OUR TEAM

Dr. Jennifer Wickens  is a family physician in Victoria,  BC.  When she started practicing over 20 years ago exclusive breastfeeding was rare and she soon realized  she lacked the skills to fully support  her breastfeeding patients. While on parental leave with her firstborn, she  and baby Luke  travelled to Vancouver to attended  lactation consultant courses. After passing her IBCLC exams in 1997 Dr Wickens continued her  training  in Breastfeeding Medicine through the Academy of Breatfeeding Medicine. She has been working with families facing breastfeeding challenges ever since.  

She is the mother of three children , an outdoor enthusiast, and  teaches  Family Practice and Breastfeeding Medicine for  UBC  Medical School and  the Island Medical Program.
